Hard Rock Hell E.P. Review of STAIN OF HUMANITY:

"When one thinks of groundbreaking death metal acts in the UK, the Northwest county of Lancashire may not be on the tips of tongues...not just yet, anyway. All Consumed, a vicious four-piece hailing from the cotton mill city of Preston are trying their hardest to change perceptions though.

'Stain Of Humanity' is their newest release, a 5 track EP hot on the heels of 2016's magnificent debut 'No World Order'. It is also marks their first release with new growler Mike following the departure of Rob earlier this year and already his style suits the band to a tee.

Opening track 'Remains Of The Dead' starts off with a gloomy, Celtic Frost-esque riff showcasing the heavy death groove that made their debut so enjoyable. All Consumed's trademark is utilising those thick, heavy slabs of riffage in-between the inevitable blast beats and any newcomers to the band are given a taste of what they are capable of in the first 3 and a half minutes of gloriously gory rhythms. 'Childs Play' is another groove-machine with flavours of early Deicide in the marriage of riff and drums.

'Descend' looks set to be a crowd favourite with a neat vocal line and yet more catchy riffing, distorted bass-lines and effortless time changes. Although All Consumed may have sacrificed some of their earlier D-Beat influences in favour of a more streamlined death metal sound, the intensity is as prevalent as ever with focus shifting to a more grounded feel. 'Inhuman Evolution' being proof that death metal doesn't have to be 1000mph and a million notes per minute - sometimes less is more and when those groovy riffs come to the fore then the true appeal of All consumed is unearthed.

EP closer 'A Price Forced And Paid' seals the deal with elements of thrash in the mid-section riff, affirming that All Consumed do indeed possess the necessary chops to be considered major players in the UK death metal scene. No frills, no gimmicks - just straight up honest determination. Definitely ones to watch.
